Connecting to PC-Wireless
PC-Wireless is only accessible by current Providence College students, faculty, and staff who have an active Providence College email account.
If you are a guest of the College, you should contact the Helpdesk at 401-865-4357 for instructions on connecting to our guest wireless.
If you are a member of the student body, faculty, or staff, you should follow the proper instructions below.
Note: Wireless networks are inherently less secure than wired networks. Sensitive and confidential information should not be accessed over wireless networks.

In order to connect to the wireless network, double click on the wireless icon in the System Tray, which is normally in the lower right hand corner, next to the clock. You should see the following screen, which may or may not have multiple wireless networks displayed.
What you should do from here is click on the PC-Wireless entry and then click Connect. It will go through the connecting process.
Open up a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and go to a web page. You should be automatically redirected to the wireless portal. Log in using your Providence College email username and password.
If you are not automatically redirected to the wireless login page, you should try manually typing in a web address, such as www.google.com.
Connect using Windows Vista
Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu
Choose the Network and Sharing Center.
Click on Connect to a Network, listed under Tasks on the left side.
Choose PC-Wireless and click Connect.
After it tells you that you're connected, open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox). You should be automatically redirected to the wireless portal. Log in using your Providence College email username and password.
If you are not automatically redirected to the wireless login page, you should try manually typing in a web address, such as www.google.com.
Connect using Apple MacOS X
Click on the Airport icon in the menubar.
Click on PC-Wireless.
Open up a web browser (such as Safari or Mozilla Firefox) and go to a website. You should be automatically redirected to the wireless portal. Log in using your Providence College email username and password.
If you are not automatically redirected to the wireless login page, you should try manually typing in a web address, such as www.google.com.
