Computer Repair Policy

Faculty and Staff

Please call the Help Desk at x4357 (xHELP) for assistance. If the Help Desk consultants cannot help you, they will enter a work order and a field technician will visit you as soon as possible.

Students

The Providence College Help Desk will assist students in virus removal, spyware removal, and other general software support.  Please see our ResNet page for information on having the Help Desk assist you.  The Help Desk does not provide repair services for hardware in student owned machines. We have made arrangements with a local computer vendor, CompUtopia, for student computer repairs.  If you purchased your computer from CompUtopia and carry CompU-Care coverage, you should take your computer to them for any and all issues.

Students may call CompUtopia at x1013 on-campus to setup an appointment for network card installations, operating system reinstallations, and any other type of personal computer repair. CompUtopia will be open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
