Internet Connectivity & OSHEAN

 Providence College connects to the Internet through a consortium of area schools called
OSHEAN (The Ocean State Higher Education / Economic Development and Administrative Network).

The advantages of this membership are three-fold:

• OSHEAN members share the cost of Internet I (public) connectivity
• Internet 2 connectivity is shared amongst members institutions. (Internet 2 is an advanced network of applications and technologies for research and higher education.)
• The college shares technical expertise and security monitoring with member institutions.
